The sad news came through Helloer, a soldat developer who has been working on Soldat for quite a long time. Unfortunately, due to ignorant and non-caring behaviour of the lead developer Falcon, Helloer has decided to make himself distant from Soldat. We do not know what goes on behind the closed doors of Soldat developers, so we will simply accept Helloer’s words.
According to him, he has been working on Soldat 1.8 rigourously. He even posted his git commit log which indicated plenty of work he has commited and tested. As it goes with any development of a big project, there is a lead developer who takes care of certain things. For example, getting the updates out to the public, keeping the team spirit high and so on. Falcon seems to have failed to do his duties.
On the other hand, THD, the company that hosts soldat websites seem to have failed to offer any kind of support in testing out cross platform soldat client, something which Helloer has been working on for the past few months. JRPG responded back to him defending THD’s stance about Soldat and blaming Helloer for not providing the required information.
Meanwhile, other members jumped in asking Helloer to finish the version he has been working on before he leaves but he simply denied working on it anymore.
From Akinaro’s point of view, MM has given up on Soldat completely but still hopes to receive registration money from it. MM is the original developer behind Soldat but he no longer works on developing this game. He has offloaded that job to the selected few developers from the community. Unfortunately, these developers get paid nothing. The community has had various ideas to revive the game, but since MM is the sole owner, we are no one to take control of what direction the game goes in. The arguement amongst the community members suggest that MM simply wants the money from the game, but denies putting any effort to make it better. In other words, he doesn’t care if the game is dead or alive. On the contrary, the community desires to nurture the game and bring in new players and everyone seems to be happy to contribute to the growth of the game in their own ways.
MM is the owner who’s non-interest is about to destroy a game which has potential to thrive for a long time to come.
